The Healthy Youth Act was implemented in North Carolina middle schools and high schools in 2010. These on-line modules are intended to assist public schools with the ability to carry out the law and teach the new Essential Standards in Healthful Living Education.

On-Line Training

Public schools and public health are partnering in North Carolina toreduce teen and unintended pregnancies, decrease STD and HIV infection, and to help youth people make positive decisions about relationships and the future. The online module is the product of collaboration between the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiatives (NCDPH) and the NC School Health Training Center housed at Appalachian State University. School administrators and teachers are better prepared to fully implement the Healthy Youth Act with the information and resources in these modules. Having completed the module and assessments, participants will receive either .1 or .5 CEUs.
